Injury rehabilitation

Injury rehabilitation

If you have an injury that is causing you discomfort, or is preventing you from performing everyday activities or exercise, you need an injury rehabilitation appointment. During this appointment, your full injury history will be taken and an injury assessment will be performed to determine the cause of the pain. You will be treated with manual therapies to help decrease your pain and improve your range of movement in the injured area. Fox Injury Clinic will provide you with a specific personal rehabilitation plan that is tailored to your injury, ability, and circumstances. This will build strength in the affected area to promote healing and prevent injury recurrence. Our priority is to get you injury and pain-free—and keep you that way!

FAQ

FAQ

FAQ

Can I go to a Sports Therapist if I don't play sports?

Absolutely. You do not need to play sports to benefit from a sports therapy appointment. Sports Therapists are qualified to assess and treat a range of different musculoskeletal issues. This includes niggles, aches and pains, general discomfort or mobility issues, and more severe injuries.

What should I wear to my appointment?

For massage appointments, please bring loose fitting shorts. For injury rehabilitation appoinmtents, wear comfortable clothing that allows for easy exposure of the injured area. This may include shorts for lower limb injuries or t-shirts for upper limb injuries. Individuals experiencing back, neck or shoulder pain may be asked to remove their top for treatment. However, if you are not comfortable with this you may wear a tank top or vest which allows access to the area. Treatments may include rehabilitation exercises, so make sure to wear suitable footwear and clothing.

Is sports massage painful?

While some discomfort may be experienced when working on tender areas, sports massages should not be excessively painful. Pressure can be adjusted throughout the session to suit your personal preferance. The therapist will communicate with you throughout the session and pressure can be made to be lighter or firmer.
